About The Movement Factory
The Movement Factory is an award winning Dance Company founded in 2001 by Leanne Pero (Director).

The Movement Factory is home to several dance initiatives working together collectively to give The Movement Factory a unique and revolutionary presence within the Dance industry.

The Movement Factory consists of –

The Dance Academies – Providing professionally competitive dance training in various styles for young people aged 4 – 21 year olds

Dance Fitness – A revolutionary health and wellbeing programme providing Zumba, yoga and dance to people of all ages to help get fit and maintain healthy lifestyles

Dance Parties – A unique service providing dance themed parties for birthdays, proms, hen parties and other special occasions, tailored specifically for the individual, bringing the fun and entertainment.

Dance Events – Home to our highly anticipated dance shows such as our annual Get it on the Floor dance competition and Keep it moving Dance showcase as well as our end of term dance academy showcases and our all new friendly street dance competitions.

Mobile Dance Hire – Bringing you the best in street, hip hop, ballet, tap, cheerleading & contemporary dance Instructors as well as mobile performance groups for events, shows, and TV.

The Movement Factory is the place to come to for everything dance related.
Leanne, the founder and director of The
Movement Factory, had a vision at the tender age
of 15 to use her passion and talent for dance
to engage with young people. Leanne understood,
through her own experience, that street dance had
the power to keep young people focused, off the
streets, and away from the crime which was rife in
the area she grew up in.

Though this vision Leanne set up her first community
dance programme, Bruk Out, fundraising over £150,000
and winning several awards. Leanne created The
Movement Factory in 2010 after she was approached
by The Media Trust to participate in the documentary
“Breaking Out”, which aired on the Community Channel
in July of the same year. This opportunity saw Leanne
paired with her mentor, The Pineapple Studio’s Debbie
Moore OBE, who set Leanne the task of creating an
umbrella company under which to house all her

Since the company’s rebrand launch in 2010, The Movement Factory has built firm foundations within the dance industry and has grown significantly in size with many umbrella dance brands.

Leanne’s accolades include a Highly commended nod at the Women of the Future Awards in 2012, winning the Black Business Initiative Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008 and 2010, winning Southwark Community Champion Award 2008, winning the GLE London Rising Star of the Year Award 2009 and also winning a Southwark Volunteer Centre Rising Star of the Year Award 2010.

Leanne is also a professionally qualified dance teacher with the I.D.T.A in Freestyle Dance- passing with an “Honours” Award.

Her credits include work for Nike, Big Dance, Fulham Football Club, Pimlico Plumbers, Mr Delicious UK, Ed Tracey, Southbank Centre – Overture Festival, Sky News, BBC News, The Media Trust, Houses of Parliament, Gordon Brown and ITV.

More recently as well as running The Movement Factory, in 2014 Leanne was newly appointed as Pineapple Dance studio’s Community Ambassador and she also travels the UK training up dance teachers enabling them to deliver dance leaders qualifications to young people as part of charity Sports Leaders UK.

One of Leanne’s career highlights was being selected as an official London 2012 Olympic torch bearer presenting partners Coca Cola future flames, running the relay on Thursday 26th July 2012!!
