CHOREO LAB

Choreo Lab is a series of professional development workshops delivered across 11 weeks for ages 16-21 years who have a passion or interest in dance.

You will gain an insight to a range of elements to help you create work and be given the skills and knowledge around 5 components of the programme which are, Foundations/Techniques, Musicality, Creation/Tools & tips, Lighting Design & Legal requirements.

The professional development programme Choreo Lab will help expand your knowledge around different components to improve skill sets and give you more tools and confidence to input when your creating work.

The outcomes of this course would allow all participants to gain a broader understanding of choreography, that it’s more than just 5,6,7,8, you will be equipped & understand the importance of the cultured history and foundations when choreographing work. You will be more upskilled in challenging yourselves when creating and have a collection of key tools to utilise alongside the language and technology terminology used when working within theatre settings, such as plotting lighting. You will feel confident in devising plans and be able to use vital information needed to ensure a smoother efficient process.

At the end of the 11 weeks, you will create a short 2–3-minute solo inputting all what you’ve learnt.
